Project Description
SPRING’s overarching vision is to reduce undernutrition, prevent stunting, and work with women and children under two years of age to reduce anemia. SPRING’s implementation team consists of experts from JSI Research and Training Institute, Inc., Helen Keller International, The International Food Policy Research Institute, Save the Children, and The Manoff Group.
SPRING conducted a 2-year case study called “Pathways to Better Nutrition” from 2014-2016. The objective of this study was to explore how the Ugandan and Nepalese Governments prioritize nutrition interventions and support the implementation of its national nutrition plan to reach its chosen goals of reducing undernutrition. The study documented through both qualitative (key informant interviews, document review, direct observation) and quantitative methods (financial analysis of budgets) the selection of, and changes to, prioritized activities and resource allocation that occurred during the two years that the study covered.
